Firstly, congratulations Brother thats an incredible milestone.
Secondly, as to the what now? This one was the hardest part for me. I started swinging hammers at 13, too young to operate pneumatic or power tools. Went into automative after the 08 housing crash, then the military in the recession that followed. After I was medically retired I did some IT and cybersecurity contracting for a while until my health challenges compounded.
Life kind of forced us to find a new lane, and an outlet for the skills that we had cultivated over the years. Alison and I decided to support and start projects that align with the kind of world we would like to see. Focusing on supporting, promoting or creating community based educational projects and events that support small businesses, nonprofits, and community. Self employment has allowed us to find a balance that works around limitations and life while still participating in the fun and games.
Now is the perfect time to figure out what you enjoy doing, and people to do it with. I'm sure as a Traveling man you have no shortage of companions who would love an excuse to take a road trip, or perhaps start or support a community project you feel is worthy of your time and talents. Or perhaps its time to start a Jobby doing something you enjoy as your new "career" and a way to support the things you enjoy?
