I worked at Radio Shack in college and although I had a love for big stereos before that...it was firmly entrenched afterward. I bought some RCA 3 way floor speakers and a myriad of other things as well. At that time I had my dad's 2 1976 Realistic speakers and I hooked it up for "surround sound" good times!

We still have our Pioneer $500 "smart receiver" we bought in 2005, and haven't used it since we moved in 2020...as well as those same RCAs, but haven't worked it all out. I think we will eventually get the soundbar for the TV and call it done.

Let me know if you want to sell your old audio system. I have just upgraded my car audio running American made Audio Control (PNW), totaling about 2400 watts. Now my home system is pathetic sounding.

Audio equipment is not what it used to be, with cheap plastic and poor quality China grade craftsmanship that has dominated the market in every field. But there are some good sound systems. As you probably know can take you way north of $10,000. I'd rather have that solid wood speaker that takes up too much room and a graphic equalizer over digital sound controls.

Seriously, if you are thinking about getting rid of your old reciever/amp/eq let me know

All of it is just about gone. Except for the speakers, the only two things I have is an Onkyo receiver (cheap) and a turntable. The speakers I'll probably be buried in.
